The Story Behind ~Talula's Wagon ~
Talula was my childhood nickname, and I have to confess that I was a Bookworm and a Tomboy!
Reading was my favorite pastime, acting out fantastic adventures from a book, never the princess; but always the pirate! One summer; I created my first business selling my old toys, games and books by putting them in our little red wagon, and walking through my neighborhood door-to-door in 100* Texas heat. Success was an empty wagon and a pocketful of change. Paying for ice cream and a new book with my own hard-earned money at age eight was a real sweet treat! So when I started my children's bookstore business in 2006; the company's name had already been bouncing around in my brain since childhood.
Now why should you trust me to know anything about children's books?
I grew up to spend 25 years teaching children in Early Childhood Education programs; that's why! First as a parent & teacher, then director & trainer of teachers; I was always looking for fresh, high-quality books, ESL resources and multi-cultural curriculum materials. Ask any teacher, and they will tell you that searching for materials is a never-ending task. Now with ~ Talula's Wagon ~ we have brought together high quality products and fantastic resources right here to make it easier for parents and teachers. I don't know about you these days; but I'm always excited over "easier" when I can get it.
